Styles come and go faster than you can fill your closet with the latest trend.  When purchasing new items of clothing, consider how long they might last.  While following trends isn’t forbidden; a trend should not dictate your daily attire.  Add pieces that are subtle and traditional, like a blazer or white button-down shirt.  Mixing traditional clothing into your wardrobe allows for you to tone down your image and never run out of options for new looks.

In the workplace, there is an age-old rule of thumb when it comes to dress:  mimic the appearance of the person you holds the position you would like to have in your own time.  If you see yourself as a manager, or the owner of a company, then dress the part.  If you are a student but are looking forward to a professional career, dress in more tailored outfits and you’ll feel great whether sitting in class or out on the town with friends.
